Locations

Locations are famous landmarks, cities, or points of interest. Here is a list of them broken down by territory/system.

The Aleph Null system, formerly Aleph Beta under the Tyrants is a very strange place. It is thought to be moving through space, but this theory arises from the red tide surrounding the system distorting the star's exact position, making it dangerous to get in and out of without the use of gate-rings.

  • Albion - Albion is a terrestrial planet located in Aleph Null. Albion and its orbit are home to several billion people, making the majority of the Cluster's population under the Kingdom of Albion. The predominant species is human, but other humanoid alien species are known to intermingle and move freely through the planet. Albion's economy is highly reliant on trade, as its natural resources are on a razor's edge.
    • Orbital Object: Null - The primary defense system of Aleph, Null was originally created as a fortress - constructed atop the remains of a sheoul blast-deposit excavated from Thunderhead artificially pushed into Albion's resident orbit. It is a hybrid electromagnetic rail-cannon and space-compression mass-driver. Null is a relic of the old war and served as the turning point in the war and a symbol of Aleph's independence - changing the name of the system from Aleph Beta to Aleph Null.
    • York - York is a city-state of Albion, situated in the tundra spread across the southwest area of the continent Nalbin. York is governed by the Kingdom of Albion under its city-state agreements. It is also called the Grey Sector by locals thanks to the chilly weather and expanses of taiga. Its primary industries are magery and materials processing.

Traveller

  • Traveller - A gas giant orbiting Aleph Null with a large gaggle of inhabited moons organised by the servitor-robots of the Unity Protocol. Among its more famous locations include:
    • Sargasso - The fair city of Sargasso, home of Phoenix Team and renowned among slime connoisseurs. Known for occasional giant monster hazards, and regular hazards.
    • Noir - A city blanketed in eternal night by a cloud of thick smog and haze. Known for rampant crime and corruption, and all of the issues that brings along.

Other Places

  • The Outer Ring - The outer rims of the Aleph Null system, skirting the edges of the red tide that surrounds the Aleph Null system, outside the jump gates or regular traffic.
  • Pastel Shoal - encircled in every direction by red copper infused tundra, the Pastel Shoal is a strange metalloid infused matte mudflat desert encroached on the pink sea. Sometimes called the “pink sea” or “pastel shoal”, it its surface is composed of many pastel colors. Most every structure moves at right angles relative to the others, forming large caverns and tall wall-like structures which while tall about their middle, even and level out about the exterior which past a set level is covered by liquid water, complete with tide - known as the 'pink sea' due to its high concentrations of salt.
  • The Processus Megastructure - Located on Thunderhead: An enormous subterranean structure with little internal logic or coherence, the processus megastructure is composed of an organic mineral. Through means are little understood, it has has been artificially limited to just under a 1000 kilometer radius and about as far underground, in a spherical form. Its interior, bizarrely, has complete life support yet is close to sterile as its interior arrangement is constantly being changed.

Aleph Alpha System was previously part of the Aleph chain, and now stands alone amid the wreckage of the Tyrants to pick up the pieces. They have a rocky relationship with Aleph Null.

  • Somerset - Primary population hub of Aleph Alpha, with the cylindrical Lighthouse Gate providing access in and out of the system easily.
  • Crimson Shore - Bordering on Aleph Null's red tides at the 'northern' edge in relation to Aleph Null, this red tide was responsible for an outer planet in Aleph Alpha being knocked out of orbit and fragmented into thousands of pieces.

Also known as the Symphony system, Aleph Gamma System sports a single habitable planet with the given name. The inhabitants of Aleph Gamma banded together when they saw Aleph Beta (now Null) rebelling against the Tyrants, and the planet came together to banish the Tyrants from their system.

  • Cel Tonna - A picturesque vacation destination located on the edge of a floating landmass of the magical nexus planet Rococo.
  • Xaimni, The Path Sublime - A beautiful lakeside city built in the shape of a five-petalled flower, on the magical nexus planet Rococo located in Symphony. It is a mecca for psionic users.

The Acala System is a system within reach of a large Space Gate which lends its name to the territory. Its planets and colonies have commercially viable amounts of natural and renewable resources for export. Their most immediate neighbour and on/off trading partner is the Aleph Null System.

  • Acala Space Gate - From the old-war tongue meaning “unmovable”, Acala is an early space-gate appended to one of the first wormholes. It is the last of its original infrastructure in operation and is characterised by a long sword-like body with two prongs - through which traffic moves down the middle, docking along the edges.
  • Celai - A primarily ocean planet inhabited by Sourcians. Generally, these Sourcians prefer to stay to themselves under the ocean. When necessary, Celai hosts a contingent of Adagio-types living in surface-level Kolossalium stacks, and upon an orbiting space station to interact with with foreigners.
  • Fudou - A corporate state which encompasses most of the planet. Its board of directors and CEO hold the political power. Originally a mining and resources company specialising in mining Sheoul, Fudou ended up financing, exporting, maintaining a majority of the planet's resources in BPA 89, then steadily influencing the political sphere until taking control of it entirely.

The Crias'Roshya Star System is the home system to the Raiken and the center of the Raiconian Alliance.

  • Ranil'inas - Homeworld of the Raiken and the capital of the Raiconian Alliance. It is a tidally-locked planet, meaning one half of the planet always faces the sun. This leaves the other side to freeze, while the middle band of the planet is the most habitable. In the centre of this strip of habitable land, Kalil vi S'aeruz (Band of Storms) is where thunderstorms and high winds are almost constant.
  • Located in the Hanuo Provence of Lor are the Reik'i Ice Caves - a spectacle of ice-falls, icicles and ice stalagmites. These caves are thought to be half a billion years old and while many caves like this do exist, this particular cave remains frozen at all times. While the temperature outside is desert-like, the layout of the cave's arrangement means the cave is always kept to a breezy -12 degrees thanks to thermal convection and the shape of the cavern.
    • Laid into it are steps carved from naturally occurring diamond and carved shapes, in what is ultimately one of Lor's oldest monasteries. Stretching thousands of feet down, the first 300 feet are open to the public, connected by stairs, bridges and other winding labyrinth like structures. It was established as a national park and staged with ambient lighting which glitters through the ice. Exactly what is at the bottom remains unknown as the air towards the bottom is close to unbreathable due to its low oxygen content and is visited only by monks and priests in feats known as 'dives'.
