Ador Ceva Armor System

The Ador Ceva Armor System is a system employed by the Protectors Of The Alliance. It is designed to improve a vessel's resistance to kinetic projectiles, which are commonly used by Raiken vessels. It uses magnets to absorb kinetic energy and deflect kinetic projectiles. This system does not work on energy weapons.

The Ador Ceva uses magnetic push and pull to deflect incoming projectiles. It was originally designed by the Protectors of the Alliance for use on starships. It was requested when pirates and other independent hostile vessels became more frequent. The Protectors desired a system that would increase their own ships durability, allowing them to engage hostile vessels and take minimal damage.

With that request, the Ador Ceva was born. Using magnetic armor plates, the Ziras Shai vi Culir was able to design a system that pushed back when a projectile made contact, absorbing some of the kinetic energy of the projectile. This reduced the chance of a penetrating shot and increased the chance of deflecting the round completely. The system also reset itself and lasted longer than a single shot, unlike the reactive armor they used previously.

The Ador Ceva is an armor system that modifies the design of armor plating. Although it is considered a supplementary system, this system is built into the ships hull and directly modifies the function of armor plating. Ador Ceva is not used everywhere, only on the largest 'targets' on a vessel, usually the sides and front. It can only be used on flat spaces that have no other structure or device.

Ador Ceva plating and the bottom of its housing is typically constructed of Esyga. The casing is usually constructed of a_unavas_rhi.

The Ador Ceva is essentially a magnetically charged plate contained within a housing. The housing keeps the plate from floating away when it is pushed back by any force. The magnetic plate, which is essentially free-floating in the housing, is attracted to the top of the housing and repelled by the bottom. The top of the casing has a strong enough pull to hold the plate in place, but not strong enough to offer an real resistance to an external force. The bottom of the housing has a very powerful magnet that offers plenty of resistance to external forces that attempt to push on the free-floating plate.

The Ador Ceva functions using the relatively basic properties of magnetism. While opposites attract, two objects with the same magnetic charge push each other away.

When an external force pushes on the free-floating magnetic plate that is contained within the housing, the plate is dislodged from the top of the casing, pushing it downwards. When the plates near the short-range but very powerful magnet lining the bottom of the casing, the plate is pushed back towards the top of the housing. This force exerted by the repelling magnet absorbs kinetic force from the incoming projectile and increases the chance of deflecting said projectile.

While the Ador Ceva offers some distinct advantages, it also poses some disadvantages from using it.
