Tubing from that runs down her spine to a cylindrical external filtration and storage unit at the small of her back. She is almost found wearing a custom BDU and a pico-jelly tail. Small black wings sprout from her shoulders and due to their size are unsuitable for flying. Likes to 'meow'

Psychology - With a strongly sunny disposition Lami'al is quick to try and make friends with a smile and straight-forward exuberance. One to openly speak her mind, she is quick to say exactly what she thinks in casual company, a trait which is somewhat hampered by a deep mischievous streak, lending to teasing and playfulness which at times comes at the expense of others. Her time in the wilds isolated from social connections has intensified and invigorated her desire to be sociable removing much of her hesitation preferring instead to take advantage of things in the moment.

  • Likes - Her aspectation partner Dal, good food, a nice view, play.

Affiliations and Beliefs

A born daughter of the Matriarchy Lami'al feels connected to all citizens of the Matriarchy believing it is her duty to do what she can to do her part and contribute to the well-being of all whom she believes to be doing the same. To this end she looks favourably upon all lorath with rare exception, as well as those helashio, humies, or otherwise who do their part to contribute so long as they continue to pull their weight.

Like most Lmanel, Lami'al maintains a hybrid faith most closely grounded to the natural world, those who have come before her, and the shamanistic observances and practices which tie them together and to the Goddess and God. She practices rituals and observances for the Goddess, the God, and the natural world in equal part, giving her worship and respect. As such Lami'al can usually find some aspect of the Lorath Faith to draw upon in almost any situation, as well as draw upon her balanced faith for strength. As a practising shaman, Lami'al also has ties within the Lmanel shaman circles giving her contacts with varying ties to the central church as well as varied fields of expertise.

Attached to the La'natah clan, Lami'al has contacts available to her in several cities on Lor as well as a few branch relations that have chosen to remain on Nyli III. While not having maintained any deep connections, shared history, and a shared name are usually enough to engage on amiable terms and work out exchanges of favour if needed.

Languages

Primarily fluent in Ly'thir, Lami'al also has extensive familiarity with Ci'kesa due to her study of the faith along side her shamanistic training. Though less comfortable with it, Lami'al has also picked up the commonly used humie dialects as a trade-tongue able to identify and to some degree mirror the cultural flavors of the sub-cultures found within the Matriarchy's borders.

Originally born from the Lorath Matriarchy's supplemental cloning project Lami'al entered life in the body of a young adult after a virtual upbringing experiencing a childhood and early life that never really was. Intended to be just another of the many clones like herself produced to expand the Matriarchy's population as they expanded to the stars and weathered the hostilities that had come with their broadened horizons, she ended up being one of the last clones decanted in the facility situated on the eastern continent of Lor. Introduced to her adoptive family just before the moonfall crisis, Lami'al was lucky enough to be shepherded onto an evacuation ship in the final moments before the fragments of the moon collided with Lor's surface.

Evacuated to Nyli III with the majority of Lor's populace, Lami'al soon volunteered to join the LSDF and trained to earn a position in the newly forming LSDF survey corps with the task of traversing the scarred and broken landscape of a post-impact Lor to discover first hand what the extent of the devastation had been. In the years that followed Lami'al worked to survey the planet, travelling from the least affected regions into the heart of the devastation on many occasions, as well as providing security for scientific missions to the surface as well as contributing to the assembly of infrastructure needed to begin the process of healing the planet's atmosphere and biosphere.

As the planet recovered Lami'al transitioned into the role of a fairly well respected wilderness ranger, remaining in the moon devastated eastern hemisphere Lami'al worked from an outpost on the edge of the impact zone and spent many of her days venturing deep into the scarred, but recovering wilderness. Her days were spent documenting, managing, and observing the flora, fauna, geological, and weather of the area while providing both navigational and security aid for research teams deployed to the region. Her occupation became a fairly mundane and rote role, taking trips deep into the un-reclaimed scarred lands with her fellow rangers as well as patrolling the then still under construction barrier walls to ensure the safety of those who worked to contain and attempt to address the difficulties that the scarred lands had brought upon their home.

Though remembering the specifics is difficult for her, Lami'al became keenly aware that her job became much more difficult following the Exodus, new animals, weather patterns, and strange substances and formations becoming common place in the brutalized landscape that comprised much of Lor's eastern hemisphere.

During a mission culling an excessive population of narrshra'am2), a sudden electrical storm rolled in, and she was separated from her squad in an effort to ensure they got to safety and was nearly trampled by a herd of mutated fel'sibur3). Cut off and injured in the ensuing chaos, Lami'al was able to maintain irregular comms contact with her distant squad while struggling seek shelter from frequent lightning strikes, flash flooding, and the difficulty of dealing with her gradually worsening infected wounds. After a time of wandering in the torrential downpour, Lami'al found herself in a relatively dry, sheltered outcropping beneath the roots of a tree.

Here, partially delirious, exhausted, injured, and alone she was approached by one of the smaller narrshra'am. Initially frightening it off with unintentionally inaccurate fire from her hi'kid, she was repeatedly approached over the duration of the storm of the storm, and the following days by the creature. Initial interactions involving Lami'al talking to herself and personifying what she initially considered to be a mindless scavenger, progressed into periods of delusion, mania, and fixated interest in the unusual animal, coming to appreciate the way it used broken branches, long bleached bones, skulls, and even flat stones to augment its otherwise pitiful translucent form.

Several days into the unintentional co-habitation with the narrshra'am, Lami'al was awoken by a fever dream by a chorus of angry chittering to discover that her unlikely companion was in the process of attempting to fend off a small group of rroci'ti4) which had emerged from the floodwaters to scavenge for easy food. As she struggled in her feverish weakened state to pull her hi'kid into her hands, Lami'al was struck by the observation that the narrshra'am was not simply defending itself but, actively working to keep the advancing rroci'ti from reaching her. Forced to accept that it wasn't simply protecting a food source, as she likely could have been killed by it long before that moment, Lami'al struggled into an upright position and with as much care as she could manage in her delirious state.

A short sequence of shots, many less accurate than she would care to admit, were enough to either kill or drive off the encroaching rroci'ti, providing a moment of relative safety and food for the narrshra'am which had risked itself for her sake. Muttering a prayer of thanks both to the Goddess and her unlikely protector, Lami'al once again passed into unconsciousness.

Awakening an unknown time later, she was immediately struck by a strange sensation as well as a notable shift in her perception. Confusion shifted to worry, then panic, and slowly understanding as she took in her situation, the narrshra'am having extended several pseudopods, visibly stretching to keep itself at a distance as it explored and interacted with her infected wounds. Fascinated Lami'al watched the wisps of the toxic byproduct of the narrshra'am swirl over her skin, mixing with her blood as it passed over wounds that hadn't quite sealed. In a moment of brief lucidity Lami'al realized that her only hope at survival was to attempt to bond with the animal which had become her unlikely companion in the wake of the storm, as thunder and rainfall filled the air Lami'al offered a heartfelt prayer to the Goddess, the God, and Lor herself as she dredged up all she could remember of what she'd been taught about the aspectation process.

When Lami'al next awoke she initially assumed that she'd awoken from a convoluted nightmare. She felt good, relaxed, comfortable, free from the constant shivers and tremors that she had expected. It was only as she opened her eyes to perceive the ceiling of partially unearthed roots that she realized that unfortunately it had all been very real. Movement was easy, but in other ways difficult. While her wounds had finally closed properly and pink, healthy flesh indicated that she was well on her way to an eventual recovery, other discoveries were less heartening. Her right hand had been petrified, and a battery of sharp pains when she moved her forearm indicated that the petrification had proceeded unevenly up her forearm. Investigation uncovered other areas of her body that had been turned to stone, luckily none vital, as well as the discovery that she had lost vision in her left eye. Most startling of all, however, was the plumes of rose colored vapor that escaped with every breath.

As she came to terms with the price of her ordeal, Lami'al became aware of the comforting, pillowy sensation of the naarshra'am that cradled her body, it's toxic vapors seemingly having no effect on her, and the distinct feeling of relief that radiated from the creature brought her a surprising peace of mind. Gently stroking the smooth, gel-like surface of the naarshra'am with her unpetrified hand, Lami'al allowed herself a smile for the first time in what felt like a life-time before fumbling with her low-powered comms in an attempt to arrange for hazmat and an evac.

After a lengthy debriefing process, initial medical treatment, re-acclimation, extensive surgery, and several difficult months in observational quarantine Lami'al was finally cleared to re-integrate among her peers. During her time of psychological leave following her release into the Matriarchy at large, spurred by her experiences Lami'al sought teaching from Lmanel who held a deep connection with the wilds working hard to deepen her own connection to the natural world around her while also learning to perceive and harness the mystical gifts that the natural world provided.

Along with her foray into traditional Lmanel shamanistic practices, Lami'al enrolled in a remote curriculum geared toward providing her with a better understanding of molecular biology and chemistry focusing on naturally produced compounds and byproducts in an effort to better understand the results and consequences of her aspectation. Motivated to better herself not only in her chosen career but also to expand her horizons academically Lami'al found her life dramatically changed as she returned to the moon-scarred lands with new pursuits as well as a companion she had never known she was missing.

Recently having been approached by an a superior in the LSDF, Lami'al was asked if she would apply her skills on the frontier rather than the home front to serve the Matriarchy in securing its borders and learning more about what lies beyond. Though reluctant to leave the scarred wilderness that she called home, her desire to ensure a safe and prosperous Matriarchy bolsters her spirits as she departs to places that she has never seen before.

Abilities are different from Skills - as Skills represent common knowledge throughout the whole profession while abilities represent a character's personal twists on something. For example, many characters have the Vehicles skill, but a handful of individuals have the ability to make the car do some beautiful stunts. Many people may know how to use the Firearms skill, but some people can intuitively reassemble firearms or quick-draw.

Theme - List the source of your character's abilities here. This can include Martial, Gadgets, Artificial Intelligence, Cybernetics, Racial, Mutations, Psionics, Spellcasting, and more.

  • Rebuilt, Better Than Before - Following her stranding in the scarred wilderness of the moon-scarred lands on Lor Lami'al sought not only to repair what had been lost, but to improve herself. As a result when undergoing the medical procedures to repair the extensive trauma that her body had received, Lami'al opted to invest in cybernetic augments to her body to ensure that should the worst occur and she find herself in mortal danger again, she might prove more capable of helping those who rely on her, or even herself.
    • Shell of Self - An augmentation that predates her accident, Lami'al possesses a standard LSDF braincase which provides security as well as an increased chance of survival in the event of otherwise potentially mortal wounds.
    • Eye Catching Peepers - Having one of her eyes destroyed due to accidental exposure to the semi-magical toxins produced by the narrshra'am, Lami'al opted to have her eyes replaced with artificial alternatives. Incorporating much of the technology found in the Peeper Sensor Monocle, Lami'al is capable of seeing beyond the limitations of unaugmented lorath affording her a comprehensive suite of sight options as well as providing conveniences such as a heads-up display, as well as providing conveniences such as digital file management and the capacity to interact with both augmented and virtual reality.
    • Wireless Uplink - Not wanting to find herself without a way to contact others again, Lami'al has opted for the installation of a cybernetic communication unit. Installed in a decentralized manner throughout her body the unit allows for wireless communication with friendly Lorath systems, as well as includes an internal Pico-Jelly reservoir allowing her to produce a range boosting antenna or wired connections by deploying the pico-jelly through a ports hidden near the base of her wings, and the inner portion of her elbows. As a safety measure, this communication unit can be disconnected via an internal hardware switch which denies the unit power as well as access to the rest of her internal network ensuring that for security reasons she can isolate herself from potential wireless intrusion.
    • Ease of Motion - Simultaneously the most extensive, and the simplest augments, Lami'al has opted for a Lorath Skeletal Enhancement package as well as the addition of the addition of limited synthetic muscle. These enhancements provide her body with increased baseline durability while affording Lami'al the enjoyment of reduced fatigue, and brief periods of enhanced strength by supplementing her natural physique with bacterial charge pack powered musculature.
    • Filtration Fancies - As a result of the unique challenges posed by her aspected physiology, several medical-implants have been installed to help her body process and store the byproducts it produces. To this end the majority of her digestive tract has been replaced and augmented to aid in this function with a supplemental pair installed in her chest. During ordinary operation these implants filter, break down, and improve the efficiency of removal of unwanted compounds via-exhalation, however in the event of interruption of regular breathing, increase of aspectation proportions, or her respirator reaching capacity, the implants are capable of storing excess compounds to a limited degree resulting in the swelling of the tissue of her chest until such a time as excess byproducts can be safely removed.
  • Apspectation - As her caste has done for generations Lami'al has followed those that came before her and has bonded with another living organism, gaining a taste of the traits that define the other while also granting something of herself. Bonded as she is with a naarshra'am, Lami'al has some of the features of the species while through effort and focus begin able to manifest greater proportions of the animal to which she is bonded.
    • Ruinous Breath - As of the result of the minimal shifting of her physiology to allow for close and comfortable living with her aspect partner, her body through internalized symbiotic-zooid colonies naturally produces a complex fog-like toxic breath. The simplest portion of this toxin is produced by the aspect augmented exocrine glands lining the walls of an aspectation derived secondary trachea developed exclusively for exhalation, with structural features preventing inhalation. This toxin is a binary toxin, in which components of the toxin are produced differently by the glands along the secondary trachea. As air passes through the trachea, it mixes droplets of the compounds, activating a exothermic reaction effectively catalyzing the binary chemical interaction which yields the final toxic product produced through this specialized function. This product is exhaled, and is further combined with salivary enzymes which create an enhanced volatility as the thick, moist, and toxic air is released from the oral cavity. In the chemical mixture which is produced by the biological process executed in the compound secretion, occurrences of several phenethylamine compounds are observed, in conjunction with phosphonic esters. Phenthylamine compounds produced in this reaction are central nervous system stimulants. From this compound, a physiological impact is presented upon the cognitive and perceptive capacity of most vertebrates exposed. Speech, cognition, attentiveness, impulse control, and reflexes are dulled while also inducing severe hallucinations and dissociation. Accompanying the phenthylamine compounds produced, phosphonic esters are the more malignant of the compounds produced by the internal reaction. This organophosphorus class compound is a nerve agent compound which binds to nerve receptors, blocking normal calcium, sodium, and potassium channel behaviour. This organically derived nerve agent induces involuntary, painful, often damaging muscle contractions, voluntary nerve behaviours being interfered with, autonomic nervous system functions being impaired or outright suppressed, and cardio-pulmonary arrest when exposed to the aerosol form of the compound. More unusual effects as a result of exposure include petrification, physiological alteration, and in rare cases reanimation of dead flesh.
    • Creeping Flesh - A relatively small portion of Lami'al's dermal layer has been interspersed with narrshra'am dermal zooid colonies. While typically behaving no differently from her normal skin, these colonies are capable of migrating around her body, expanding in scope, or reducing as needed while knitting together superficial damage and working to improve natural healing of wounds. In the time since her initial aspecation, these symbiotic zooid colonies have systematically removed and repaired all of the scar tissue, sun damage, and has even prevented minor inconveniences such as blemishes leaving Lami'al with skin that at times looks a little too perfect.
    • Muddled Mind - Even though her aspectation is typically kept to a minimal level, the narrshra'am tissues present throughout her body has resulted in the inevitable accumulation of what would typically be considered unusual compounds in her bloodstream. While these compounds are for the most part harmless physiologically, and are naturally vented as she exhales, several compounds have proven capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier and have altered her perception in a manner that many lorath, especially among her more traditional shaman peers would consider enviable. However, it also means that she has not passed a sobriety test in the time since her aspectation.
    • Manifestation of Form - Through auto-hypnotic techniques, prayer, and rote-learning reinforced techniques refined for generations by the Lmanel Caste, Lami'al is able to alter her physiology to take on a greater degree of traits present in the narrshra'am that she is bonded with. This change typically applied allows for 20%-25% of her physiology to be changed to incorporate animal tissues, however, if needed the process may be augmented drawing more heavily upon her Faith and personal capacity with magic to push the transformation as far as 85%. This change is a taxing one and typically leaves in its wake a savage hunger as the body seeks to replenish what it has expended.

Spellbook

Characters with skills and abilities in spellcasting can start knowing a few spells. They can be committed to memory, written in a book, or manifested some other thematic way. Describe how they learn and prepare spells, and their source of power.
This section can also be used for Psionic abilities.
This section can be omitted from the character biography if your character knows no spells, psionics, or other magic-like abilities.
  • Spring's Renewal - A circle interspersed with Lami'al's personal runes, with four major markings at cardinal points is drawn (typically on a piece of paper), at its centre all of the pieces of a broken object are placed along with a seed that was produced in the autumn months. A prayer is given to allow the new beginning afforded every spring to be visited upon the item beginning the ritual. Acting as a catalyst the essence of the seed is consumed by the spell while returning the object to its initial whole state repairing the damage as if it had never occurred.
    • Fall's Wilting, Spring's Rebirth - A much more potent version of Spring's Renewal, instead of a seed, an animal in the autumn of its life is chosen. The older the better. This animal is sacrificed as a part of the ritual, its life used to fuel the restoration, allowing the spell to not only mend broken objects, but also mend wounds, restore lost limbs, and with a potent enough sacrifice, undo a recent violent death.
  • The Dreaming Vision - Slipping into a hallucinogen enhanced trance state, Lami'al broadens her perception of reality around her. More minor applications allow for the perception of shadows, winds, currents, and impressions of a local area, giving an intuitive insight into what might be present. While more involved trances allow for the perception, interaction, and investigation of the denizens as well as the supernatural environment, granting intuitive knowledge of that which exists beyond the mundane. This process, however, comes at the expense of drastically altering one's perception of reality making navigation of the mundane world challenging, and at times making herself something of a tedious experience.
    • Once Upon A Dream - A variant of the aforementioned process in which Lami'al allows herself to pass into a dreaming slumber instead of remaining somewhat lucid. In this state Lami'al can project her self outward to interact with plants, animals, and spirits native to the natural world, potentially allowing for her to gain the favour of the locals directly. This process is more effective the more familiar she is with a locale, with unfamiliar locales providing only minimal insight, where as something such as a familiar forest would provide an intense network of information allowing her to see and know what the forest knows.
  • Leaf of the Seasons - Selecting a healthy and desirable leaf, Lami'al is capable of preparing it for an infusion of magical energy. This process typically involves painting runes upon the surface of the leaf using specially prepared resin mixtures, soaking the leaf in varying solutions, exposure to the light of sun, moon, or stars, and regular sessions of prayer and focus. The entire process can take anywhere from a week to a month depending on environment, materials available, and at times luck.
    • Leaf of Spring - The Leaf of Spring is a focus of renewal, growth, and comfort channelling and magnifying effects that encourage these effects. This makes it a useful aid in pursuits of healing, cultivation, and preparation often being used as a focus in the creation of other more specialized materials, implements, totems, and foci.
    • Leaf of Summer - The Leaf of Summer is a focus of duality reflecting both the warming comfort of the sun, as well as its spiteful heat. It is best used to bolster and improve that which already is making it a potent tool for morale in a pinch or to provide a push to achieve that which seems just out of reach. Less commonly it is used to channel the bleaching heat associated with the sun making it a potent tool for weathering, tanning materials, and if needed searing flesh and bone.
    • Leaf of Autumn - The Leaf of Autumn is a focus of dissolution, it is a useful tool for disenchantment, banishment, warding, and circumvention. While typically used for rites and activities surrounding the removal of the unwanted, it also makes for a potent aid in endeavours of purification and refinement.
    • Leaf of Winter - The Leaf of Winter is a focus of attenuation, as such it excels at making things less than they once were. In its most basic applications it is able to cut as the piercing cold is said to, allowing for precise division of materials. More esoteric applications involve the erosion of gathered power, the breaching of defences, and the mitigation of that which might do harm.
  • Sun's Memory - An involved process, a resinous tree must be selected, preferably an old tree. This tree is then prepared by carving script, runes, and symbols of the sun into its sap wood. These runes are then painted with floral pigments that have been mixed with the resin of the tree before its branches are strung with woven wreaths. After this has been completed, a leaf is selected, dried, and then wrapped around a bead of resin. This completed token can then at a later time be invoked before being delivered to a target, at which point the heat of every day of sun the tree has experienced will be released in an instant, the older the tree, the more potent the effect.
  • The Jealous Moon, The Covetous Earth - Using the wood of a straight-grown sapling, a stake is carved and engraved with runes spiralling along its length. After wrapping it in plant-fibre twines soaked in a bowl of dew beneath the light of a full moon the stake is prepared for use. When the stake is stabbed into a target, the target experiences the full tidal forces of the planetary body and the attuned moon. This effect is only effective when the moon is in the sky, becoming more potent the closer the phase moon is to being full.
  • Beckoning of Distant Companions - Requiring a specially preserved piece of an animal which has been repeatedly blessed over a period of six Lor-months and which has spent at least a week in contact with the flesh of the caster, the intent and magic infused item can be used5) to summon an individual of the species to the caster's side. This summoned animal is friendly toward the caster and will without fail obey any simple commands given to it, limited by the intelligence of the animal in question.
