Engine Types

A multitude of engines and sub-engine types exist - not classifying the technology but rather, the role of the engine in the system. It is worth noting at this point that an engine is usually a piece of equipment which alters an incoming source of potential thrust, turning it into actual thrust that can do useful work – and is often linked to a drive in a drive/engine relationship.
