Mindeye Creation Guide

Mindeyes are a psionically driven sect of humanity descended from the first transhumanists who tried to push the boundary of the mind.

Essential Elements

  • Given their mental prowess, most Mindeyes prefer having a place or method they can calm themselves with.
  • Just because they're psionically inclined does not mean a Mindeye is pigeonholed into being the “intelligent, analytical” blue ogre type.

OOCLy, Mindeye surnames are mostly finnish, bulgarian, and estonian (all nationalities that do not exist in this setting but for the sake of nomenclature diversity are included as a reference point to players). Their first names are rock-based, including gemstones and crystals.

  • Mentalist - Mentalist is a catchall term for any Mindeye who actively practices their psionic abilities as their main trade. Mentalists traditionally have an upbringing that encourages their craft with their limited support networks in place, but this is not always the case.
    • Ivy - An ivy is a Mindeye who grew their power without training or education. Ivies tend to be more wild in their use and application of psionics.
    • Mason - Masons are psions who focus on producing protoplasm for all major needs - shipbuilding, frameworks, paneling, and so on. The skill requires only a little finesse, but a lot of energy so masons tend to be more upbeat individuals.
    • Watchmaker - A watchmaker is a Mindeye who turns their abilities towards creating and building complex mechanics with their mental construction ability. Unlike Masons, who can produce large uncomplicated swaths of protoplasm at a time, watchmakers require a lot of training and focus that diminishes their quantative capabilities but pushes their quality to a level beyond all others.
  • United Defense Directive - Mindeyes in the Unity Protocol commonly end up serving the UDD in one capacity or another, given their abilities and mental stability training.

Like humans, Mindeyes appear very similar. Skin colours can range pale white to dark chocolate. Albinism and melanism are slightly more common in Mindeye populations.. Hair colours can also range from white blonde, to brunette, to black, and redhead.

Fashion

This should be something influenced by societal education. Magic and psionic talents (Including specific disciplines) are in this category. Natural racial abilities should be listed here as well.

Shows examples of how to take a common upbringing and personalize it, including major historical events, otherwise give you basic ways to flesh out the background. Where were they when X was attacked? When a natural disaster hit? etc.
