Mon Network

A network of 7 channels devoted specifically to non-humanoid species (sometimes referred to as mons for short), Mon primarily deals with the ins and outs of living in a world dominated by those with two arms and two legs who see visible light and communicate with air vibrations and symbolical representations of those sounds.

Thought for the longest time to be a prank and injoke against humanoids by aliens, Mon Network was proven to contain actual televising when the signal decoders needed to actually WATCH the channels were released to the general public. It was later revealed that early adopters had just plugged themselves in and “figured it out on their own”.

Common issues discussed on the network are those of living as a hive-mind intelligence, artificial intelligence, cognisant non-sentient minds, existence as a relational abstraction (for example cognisant colors), life as a meme, how to avoid logical traps and information hazards in daily life, genetic hygiene & racial cleansing routines, developing people skills for dealing with one another (naturalism, musicalism, logical/mathematical/existential/interpersonal/bodilykinesthetic/linguistic/wordsmart/intrapersonal or spatial), familiaral affairs, entertainment, desires of self-propagation (including pornography) and shared thought and dealing with complex feelings like Xaxa, ɐnʍᴉuɐʎƎ, ⓝ8331 and the common disphoric sensation of a҉̡̛͘͞ɪ̴̕͟w̢͟ɒ̴̧n̵͏͡҉̧ţ̸͢͝͡/̨́́͞t̷̷̡̕͟ə̀͏̨͝w̶̶̡͘͟e̸̛͡͞͡ə͡r̷̡̧͡s̕ḱ̛͜͠ɪ̷͘n̸҉ felt by many high-level artificial intelligence.

Mon makes little to no special allowances in the stories or issues it deals with, though channel 108 specifically features subtitles, actoral representations similar to sign language for singular/monokinestietic emotional beings and is the only channel which is broadcast exclusively within the visible spectrum of light and the aural range of sound that can be watched with a normal television.

  • Which goo is best for you – an exploration of W̢̢̛͟͡A̷͏̀Śf͟͢͡͏j҉g̡̛͜͡r̴̡̡̡3̶̶̢2̢͞à̶͘͝s̸̀͏͟, a written and art language entirely in differing viscocities and fluid dynamics which doubles as a skin delongator, a sedative in humanoids, a powerful addictant in humanoids and (in what is surely an unrelated matter) marital aid for brood parasitic species.
  • Flogg the alien hunter – a reality television show starring (制̘造͇̺̠̱̹͠诡̨̠异̥̝̫̘̻̪͢氛̥̘̣͈̯̩̕围̨̖̼̖͈/い̖̝̩ͅれ̼͙̱̟̘̼̙て̴̣̩̥̫ほ͔̤し̤͈い̮̥̟̜͇̯̱ or “Flogg” for short), a cognisant class 4 Sourcian vapor and his experiences in bounty hunting illegal alien humans who violate their terms of visitation on Traveller and its surrounding moons.
  • Moss Matters: Stationary plant rights and you – A legal account of cognisant non-sentient mosses and plant-life on planetoids and their ongoing civil rights movement to be recognised as a species.
  • The rock and roll life: Sentient silicate care – Aimed at silicates and synthetics, living as a silicate in an oxygen rich atmosphere is fun for nobody. The show features advice and tips for both natural silicates and terminal syntheticates as well as mechanoids to stay in tip top shape, ready for the next shedding or upgrade.
  • My Little Alien: Universe is Magic – A show aimed at trimester Sourcians which explains the existence of magic to them (something they themselves are unable to perform without biologically bonding to an organic host or patterning). The show for reasons unknown has a strong humanoid following, rather than the Sourcians it was originally developed for and is extremely popular on Channel 108 which regularly marathons it.
  • The high-grade tungsten Alloy chef – While eating isn't necessary for most synthetics, it sure is fun. The high-grade tungsten alloy chef explores only the most rich and expensive high grade cuisine for those who have zero need to consume subsistence whatsoever.
  • Cryogenic Storage Wars – When rent is not paid on cryogenic storage for 11 years internationally, the contents can be sold by an auctioneer as a single lot of items in the form of a cash only auction. The show follows professional buyers who purchase the contents based only on a five minute inspection of what they can see when the viewing shield is opened. The goal is to turn a profit on merchandise or upgrade to a better body. It is particularly popular among corporal exchangers (sometimes known as “body snatchers”) and there is a gambling element involved.
  • So You Think You Can Cyber-Enhance? a spinoff of the incredibly popular “So you think you can bio-enhance”, SYTYCCE is a televised competition of rapid turnarounds for cybernetic and cybergenical (cybernetic-magical enhancements like wand-arms), showcasing the most advanced works for various species. It is particularly popular as a common trick on the show is to try to adapt enhancements especially made for one species for another.
  • Mr Human – A drama-thriller starring machine R MK317 - a biosecurity engineer and hacker who suffers from extroverted personality disorder and chronic clinical ellation which frequently alienates those they work with. R recruited by an insurrectionary anarchist known as “Mr Human”, played by HaNdSoMe$lAt3, to join a group of hacktivists. The group aims to erase all biological debt (particularly dopamine, seratonin and Oxycontin) by attacking the mega-corporation [U], who specialize in the public regulation of reuptake inhibitors and public mood control so synthetics are no longer penalized for their irrationally cheery, serene and hypermotivated dispositions.
