Sourcian Applications of Structol

Being natural programmers of structol, Sourcians make wide use of it throughout their technology: not only in their tools but also in their attire and even their biology. Their bodies are often caked in the stuff, showing as little of themselves bare as physically possible with wells inside their bodies. To form usable tools however, the wells must be extruded into structures: Usually beginning with the hardest components (which take the longest) steadily working towards creating softer structures last.

Rather than using what are conventionally thought of as equipment, Sourcians extrude extensions of their own bodies in structol to form a given tool which changes shape depending on what is required of it. Common usually is some kind of antennae or barrel called a driver, elements which are used to drive it (coils) and ammunition/fuel (stock) which feeds from a powersource (engine).

• Launcher - An extrusion usually formed from fore-arm like structures or environment manipulators: Turns the entire arm beyond the elbow into a large linear cannon, covering any “hands”. The length of the barrel, diameter of rounds, special qualities of the rounds and the shot's velocity are all variable though the underlying principle is that of a coin-gun. Sourcians typically hesitate to use a launcher, experiencing electrical trauma from the firing process in much the same way the sound of a gun startles people.

• Cleaver - With the driver and coils forming an antennae, the cleaver is a vibrating monofilament blade with a moving blade not unlike a chainsaw, though its teeth work in opposing directions. It often doubles as a blunt force trauma weapon and causes severe sensor interference.

• Zapper - Launches a rope of room temperature ionized plasma and forms an electrical microwave-circuit, whatever falls within the cloud momentarily. Very effective at knocking out or disabling biologics or outright exploding them like grapes in an oven as the water contents boil and explode. This seems to be especially designed for use against other Sourcian as it often damages structol driven weapons in the process.

• Smother - Effectively their equivalent of powered-armor: a variable outer skin or exterior that can be fluid like flesh or hard like metal. Its exterior seemingly drips upward against the fall of gravity. Its structure is inter-woven, honey-combing through the occupant's interior body.

• Cover - Levitating armor. Usually as bricks carried upon a smother, cover can unlock and reorganize itself into levitating walls of cover from weapons-fire. The same levitating force can also often provide propulsion (forming around the body in a pattern similar to a ground, air or space vehicle) or be used as a blunt force weapon by smashing two bricks of cover together with someone or something in the middle.

• Detonator - A ring of levitated structol which self-vaporizes through an atmospheric process with hydrogen and nitrogen, forming a variable yield explosive. Often sticky, taking many minutes to burn. Works best when surrounding an opponent. Often wrapped around a block of cover to form a missile of sorts.
