guide:template:star_system

This is an old revision of the document!

This template was created to make creating star systems easier and provide plenty of basic information to the reader of whatever star system is created using it.

(Created by Sham)

====== (Name of Star System, Typically the Name of the Central Star) ======

(System Description. Include general characteristics like who owns it, who discovered it, and any notable events that happened in the system. Or if there is a current conflict or problem spanning the entire system.)

  * **Name:** (Name of the Star)
  * **Type:** (Class of Star) From coolest to hottest: M (Red), K (Orange/Red), G (White/Yellow), F (Blue/White), A (Blue), B (Blue), O (Blue). (Author recommends searching ‘Classes of Stars’ for more information)
  * **Mass (Compared to Sun):** (‘Weight’ of the star. Translates to Gravitational Pull) (Written as a Decimal) (Ex 1.0 = The Sun)
  * **Radius (Compared to Sun):** (How large the star is, size wise) (Written as a Decimal) (Ex. 1.0 = The Sun)
  * **Luminosity (Compared to Sun):** (How bright the star is.) (Written as a Decimal) (Ex. 1.0 = The Sun)

  * **Type:** (General Type of Planet) (Garden [Earth-Like], Rocky, Crystal, Desert, Oceanic, Ice, Gas Giant, Magma/Volcanic, Forest/Jungle/Swamp)
  * **Orbital Radius:** (Distance from Star, in AU’s.)
  * **Period:** (Time it takes to complete an orbit around its star. List in Decimals of an Earth Year)
  * **Gravity:** (Surface Gravity. Round to the Nearest Tenth. Note - Earth’s is 9.8m/s^2)
  * **Atmosphere:** (Any Special gear required to breathe here? Is it even possible to be here without a space suit?)
  * **Temperature Range:** (Average Temperature of the Planet. If it is either too hot or too cold to land on, mark it as such, rather than providing a temperature)
