One-Stop Spacecraft Outfitting

:!: WIP - Currently in progress.

One of the core services offered by One-Stop to its fleet of spacecraft big and small is an outfitting system for internal compartments and external hardpoints.

One of the selling points for the One-Stop brand and its spacecraft is how easy it is to 'side-grade' and specialise individual spacecraft with various components and options. It has been a service provided by each and every One-Stop space garage on planets and stations throughout the Aleph Null System.

Compartments and hardpoints on ships are rated on a letter scale to indicate the size of ship they are intended for

Internal compartments for spaceships usually appear as voids inside of the craft, blank modular rooms which can be taken apart and repurposed into a variety of different purposes and roles. Below is a table of Compartment size classes, and their measurements in square metres when left empty.

Size Class Name Size
I Ultralight 2m3
G Ultralight-Light 4m3
F Light 8m3
E Light-Medium 16m3
D Medium 32m3
C Medium-Heavy 64m3
B Heavy 128m3
A Heavy-Superheavy 256m3
S Superheavy 512m3

Core Internal Compartments

The following compartment locations on a ship are always on a One-Stop ship. They consist of the Reactor Housing, Thruster Mounts, System Cruise Drive, Life Support, Power Distributor, Sensor Suite, and the Fuel Tank.

Optional Internal Compartments

The following internal compartments and components can be placed inside of the internal compartments listed throughout the pages of the One-Stop spacecraft.

Cargo Racks (I to S)

This internal compartment converts the space into an automated storage and retrieval system for One-Stop cargo cubes, and other recognised storage standards and formats. They can hold a number of storage cubes equal to their square metre space.

It's also possible for chop-shoppers to create Smuggler's Holds, hiding contraband from police scanners by disguising the portion of the ship as other components or parts.

Passenger Cabin/Living Space (E to S)

There are a variety of passenger cabins available for installation, which range from simple home furnishing setups for long-distance space crews, economy class capsule cabins with amenities, to fully furnished private living spaces for VIPs. All passenger cabins hook into and augment the ship's life support functions, and provide adequate sleeping space for occupants.

  • E Class - Bedroom for one, capsule bunkhouse for four.
  • D Class - Hotel room for two, capsule bunkhouse for eight, single luxury suite.
  • C Class - Two hotel rooms for two, capsule bunkhouse for fifteen, two luxury suites.
  • B Class - Eight hotel rooms for two, capsule bunkhouse for thirty, four luxury suites.
  • A Class - Fifteen hotel rooms for two, capsule bunkhouse for a platoon of soldiers, eight luxury suites.
  • S Class - Thirty room hotel for a cruise ship, capsule barracks for two platoons of soldiers, luxury accommodations for 16 people.
Shield Generators (I to S)

Shields generators create a bubble of protective shields around the exterior of the ship, protecting it from impacts and weapon fire. Larger shield generators are intended to protect larger ships, and consequently will draw more power from the vessel. Spacecraft not expected to face combat do not have shields pre-installed on them. When a shield generator's power is expended, the spacecraft's shield will shatter, and begin replenishing itself.

External hardpoints on the outside of a spacecraft have a simpler sizing system compared to the internal compartments. The classifications are Small, Medium, Large, Huge, and Utility. Utility hardpoints are intended to house scanners, countermeasures, and other useful functions on a ship, while the size-named hardpoints are frequently used for weapons.

Laser Weapons (All Sizes)

Drawing power from the ship's powerplant into a capacitor battery, laser and thermal-based weapons were initially created to do mining operations by carving asteroids apart. Dogfighers and mining craft desperate to fight back against pirates discovered that laser weapons disrupt and shatter shields at a faster rate than conventional armaments.

Cannon (All Sizes)

This class of weapons is more conventional, based off a variety of weapons used on land conflicts. Ammunition for the many varieties of cannon (ranging from 20mm shells for single-shot cannon to smaller 7.62x55mm cartridges for chainguns) can be purchased from any reputable dealer. They are repulsed by shields, due to their kinetic nature.

Because who doesn't want to look good in space? One-Stop space garages offer a cosmetics painting and refitting services.
