PLP-C673-9.3 "Rebuke"

The PLP-C673-9.3 or Rebuke Hand Cannon as it is more commonly branded is a pulse laser pistol notable for its high energetic output, low rate of fire, and robust construction.

Features

  • Exchangeable high capacity battery packs
  • Iron sights
  • Durable Hellenium construction.
  • Functions even after prolonged time spent in mud or submerged in sea water.
  • Common and inexpensive replacement components should anything manage to break.
  • Focusing lenses warp with regular use and require frequent replacement.

The Rebuke's design feeds electricity from its high-capacity power cell into a high-density capacitor which is used to regulate and power a laser diode which is used to pump a solid state laser assembly tuned to the infrared spectrum for ultra-short extremely high power pulses.

Uses an infrared laser to dump high quantities of energy into target materials exciting the atoms and frequently causing the point of contact to flare into a plasma state. Aside from the initial burst of plasma generated by discharge secondary damage is done via heating of materials causing damage due to rapid uneven thermal expansion as well as combustion of vulnerable materials.

Due to the energy needs of the weapon to prevent it from overheating a hardware limiter is present keeping the rate of fire to once every three seconds to prevent damage to the weapon.

Iterative design, many refinements and modifications over the years improving functionality and reliabilty.

Large body of replacement parts available in part due to the low rate of component failure.
