The "Burro" Terradrone is a squad support and fire support vehicle of relatively modest size. Designed to be deployed among infantry or patrol alone, its high speed and small profile make its large gun a surprisingly powerful addition to a squads combat capability.

==== Mission Profile ====

Designed as a semi-autonomous weapons platform for fire support and patrol, the "Burro" is small, easy to transport, and nimble. Able to move to fire positions quickly.

==== History ====

Originally made for base defense and perimeter security on the homeworld, its ease of transport, rugged and versatile terrain crossing, and adaptability made it a common sight on the frontier where it has received various upgrades over the years.

First used on the outer perimeter of certain cities with a high megafauna danger, these drones were capable enough of dealing with indecent terrain that many were able to be transferred to colonies without great modification except for engine components. One the frontier these large drones began to be used to augment offensive operations as transport of larger vehicles was sometimes impossible, and even the lightest dropships were able to deploy Burro's to troops on the ground, albeit sometimes with difficulty.

Expansions to the Burro's weaponry and capabilities were quickly performed, field modifications becoming standard as soldiers adapted the drones from capable monster defence and gun platforms, into supply carriers, mobile air defence, and lethal tank hunters. These additions crept the weight of the vehicle up until eventually the Burro Light, and Burro Heavy had to be specified.

== VC-17 17mm Autocannon "Tormento" ==
The original and primary armament of most Burro units, the popular "Auto Tormento" is a capable light vehicle cannon equipped with a variety of ammo types, although the limited space available within the Burro means it mostly carries general purpose rounds and limited quantities of more specialized ammo unless on mission specific duties.

Known for its loud hammering retort, the sound of an Auto Tormento often the first sign surprised enemies may have that they're under attack.

== VC-6 6mm Rotary Canon ==

Rifle caliber rotary cannon with fast ammunition expenditure, limited anti-vehicle capability, but excellent enemy suppression and area control capability. Very intimidating. Removes the original Auto Tormento to fit the Rotary Cannon in its place.

== 2x 60mm Missile Pod (OPTIONAL) ==
A light weight firepower enhancement, two single shot missile cells are attached to the side of the turret and are fired with self guidance.

== 16x 60mm Missile Rack (OPTIONAL) ==
A heavy weight missile expansion a large missile rack is fitted to the top of the turret, and can be loaded with a variety of missile types. Often this is used as a dedicated anti-armor or air defense platform. This expansion requires the Burro be deployed from medium dropships at least.

== MDW-1 Microwave Discouragement Weapon (OPTIONAL) ==
Attached to one of the sides of the turret, the MDW is a crowd control device based on microwave radiation to create extreme discomfort unarmored persons, causing either great distraction or making them retreat to a safe location.
