This craft is purpose-built towards combat - excelling in dogfighting and interception. It is in use by the [[/society/kingdom_of_albion#defence_and_judiciary|Royal Aerospace Flotilla of Albion]] and the [[society/unity_protocol|Unity Protocol]]'s [[organisation/united_defence_directive]] as a patrol and attack craft. Like many of One-Stop's products, it can be modified extensively to fill different combat roles, but it excels as an interceptor. | {{:spacecraft:one_stop_shrike.png|}} \\ A Shrike.| ===== Overview ===== Initially designed as a swing-wing aerospace craft between Dorian Greene and Joh van Peldt during their college days as part of an engineering assignment, they brought their initial designs to One-Stop's team of craftsmen shortly after founding the company together. There upon the drafting tables and holographic design suites, Greene, Peldt and their peers refined the design to market it towards Albion's military clientèle. This meant cutting down on niceties and streamlining the swing-wing configuration to work for air and space engagements. Aerodynamics do not factor into space engagements, but many of the Royal Aerospace Flotilla's engagements skimmed the border of atmosphere and the void, or took place around strategic installations orbiting planets. The Shrike shone on one-on-one engagements in tests, and shortly afterwards One-Stop landed a contract and production run for the military. Shortly after the demonstrated success for the military buyers, a general production run was executed for the civilian market - with advertisements targeting bounty hunters and would-be adventurers, with many of the navy-grade trimmings in the cockpit and sensor suite left intact.
