A pre-exodus technology the Molecular Polymer Damage Resistant Fibers commonly known as "Stone Thread" is an armor and utility material found in many [[:lorath_matriarchy]] civilian and military applications.

The material is designed depending on its exact processing to be applied as a cloth-like armor, solid armor, or construction material. The armor made from this material is capable of enduring attempts at damage from most melee sources, sudden impacts such as projectiles, as well as having appreciable resistance to molecular destabilization and heat effects from energetic sources such as laser weapons.

===== Technical Information =====
The material is produced through the use of a multi-stage production process with the end result of a high strength, low weight polymer. The process begins with chemical bonding, nano-technology assisted molecular bonding, and a special process of material demagnetization. Once the three initial processes are complete the resulting material is then compressed. The process of compressing the material reduces the material in volume from an 2.54cm((1")) rope like lenth, to a 1mm((1/10")) thread like fiber, making the material much stronger thanks to its structure and density, than is apparently obvious due to its form. Owing to the original rope-like material being light for its volume, the resulting threads which are created are not of an appreciable weight, instead being comparable to a length of thick silk, or a light yarn thread.

Following the production of the fiber, the material is then used for the strengthening of metallic armors by overlaying a mesh of the material onto the armor in a thing coating, by being placed as a spacer between overlapping armor plates, or along the inside of folded metals. The material is also frequently woven into damage resistant robes, or machined into a high-density weave which is sued as body armor.

The resulting thread is accepting of a large variety of dye materials allowing it to be easily coloured or coated in additional liquid solutions to alter the apparent texture for both tactile and visual purposes. This makes fabrics woven from "stone thread" ideal for use in Lorath fashions adding practicality to form.
