He wears long shawls and shorts cutting off just before the knee. His shawls are patterned with long horizontal stripes. Riik also wears a veil over his nose and mouth for religious reasons. He keeps many baubles and small trinkets and pockets on a bandolier partly hidden under the shawl, as well as an assortment of magical rings on fingers and toes. Riik's horns are short curved backwards towards the nape of his neck, not even half a foot in length. * **Face and Eyes** - Riik's face gives off the impression of wilyness and has eyes that sparkle with a truthful energy. His eyes are an amber colour. * **Band** - His band is of shoddy make, of iron on one half and tin on the other, poorly kept together by magic twine. * **Body** - Riik is a scrawny rolaan with poor dietary habits. His main body is a sandy yellow while his stomach is a soft gray. * **Distinguishing Features** - Riik casts magic with his feet and tail, leaving his hands open to other pursuits. * **Voice** - Not found. === Abilities === **Theme** - Riik has a poor spellcasting potential and a terribly made band, so he has to supplement his capabilities with cheap magical items and trickery. Riik's band is of shoddy make, and thus frequently shorts out on nonessential constant spells - such as translation. * **Magical Items** - Magical items comprise the bulk of Riik's abilities. * **Lucky Coin** - A powerful, if often useless magical artefact that allegedly enhances the user's luck. Riik does not rely on it because, as he puts it, it only makes one lucky enough to survive some situations - not to thrive. * **Sling Rings** - A pair of magic rings mounted between riik's thumb and forefinger. Clicking them together allow him to spawn a transluscent purple catch suspended between floating beads which he can pull back and use like a slingshot. * **Scent Veil** - His veil has the ability to filter out and suppress scents. * **Glowlloons** - Balloons that glow when inflated. Can be given a timed release of air with a special plastic piece so deflation is a timekeeping method. * **Match Paper** - Magical strips of paper that ignite when torn. When cut, nothing happens. * **Storage Rings** - Low-end extradimensional storage items able to hold a small amount of goods (around one cubic foot). Can be "networked" together to increase the total storage capability. Riik has several. * **Doorway Chalk** - Chalk that can be used to make a doorway in objects. Unfortunately, as this is a cheaper variant, does not create an actual door - it simply makes the portal in question a bit like a spiderweb that can only be stepped through once before the magic wears off. * **Tarspikes** - A special form of caltrop that not only pierces, but becomes sticky upon being stepped on. * **Dragonsbreath Ring** - A ring that, when blown through, emits a flame. Cheaper than a firebreathing spell, but not by much. * **Physical** - Riik is small but spry. * **Scrapper** - Riik is very light on his feet and knows how to use his size to his advantage in combat and in crowds. * **Foot/Tailcasting** - Riik casts what few spells he can through his feet and/or tail. * **Skillful tail use** - Riik is very handy with his tail. * ** Racial Abilities ** * ** The Band ** - Located on their person, the Band is the most important part of a Rolaan. Socially, biologically, magically. Oftentimes the focus for casting. * ** Poor Immune System, Heat Regulation ** - Circumvented by the Band, but if the Band is ever disabled or uncharged, sickness and hypothermia tend to set in if the conditions are wrong. * ** Senses ** - Poor taste, monochrome sight, strong sense of smell. ==== Mental ==== **Psychology** - Riik is a person concerned with wealth and his lack thereof. As he is an ineducated Lost One, his life's opportunities lead him down the path of sometimes less than legitimate odd jobs in pursuit of a better life. He views luck and fortune as a fleeting thing - not something somebody should put their faith on, and tries to control as much of his situation as possible through his own actions. * **Likes** - Shiny baubles, new magical trinkets. * **Dislikes** - Card games. * **Goals** - Get a fortunate and retire like a duke. === Spellbook === Due to Riik's inherently small magical pool and ability, he only knows a couple of spells that don't tax his ability too much. * **Accellerate** - A spell that, with Riik's mastery of it through many, many castings, gives him a very small agility boost for an even smaller payment in mana. Stronger mages would be able to give themselves ungodly speed and movement, but Riik uses it to give himself that extra 10% he needs in dire situations. * **Telescopic View** - Gives Riik the ability to focus in on far away objects or to discern the details of a close-up one. * **Treasuresense** - Riik's got the ability to see high value items through clothing, cases and the like. ==== Social ==== **Personality** - Riik is an outgoing, "friendly" rolaan but is indignantly irritated when he's anywhere from mildly inconvenienced to having his life be put in danger. === Affiliations and Beliefs === Allied Organizations * Gamble's Runners * The Ordinant Hand Enemies * The Ordinant Hand Belief Systems * Riik is a loose follower of the "Path of Divine Inhalation" methodology, a Rolaan religious sect that believes the nose is a sacred part of the body. As such, he opts to cover his own at every opportunity.
