Ranging from explorer to warship, the 38D can adapt to almost any mission required with its modular layout. Each piece almost being a ship in its own right.
The 38D is most often seen with two Engine and Weapons Arrays carried, but can easily be configured for other payloads.
The 38D has seen a high degree of modification since its prototype version, incremental changes leading to a long and prestigious version number, its decent size making it a workhorse for when the AI nation decides to physically intervene. It's on board stowage is limited, however, but capable of limited ground missions.
