The Remora-class is a very small chelti warship designed for scouting hostile controlled star systems and infiltrating ground recon teams on enemy controlled planets without alerting enemies to its presence. Designed primarily as a none-combat class, its limited stock of self-defense weaponry usually means stealth and speed are its greatest defense.

Designed for long range reconnaissance and infiltration, the Remora is a small ship designed for stealth and orbital insertion. Featuring an impressive electronic warfare capability, the Remora is most often built in two variants the S (Stealth) variant and the F (Fleet) variant. The Stealth variant is obvious, the Fleet variant forgoes the expensive stealth plating and opts for moderately better firepower, active countermeasures, and more aggressive EW systems.
With chelti expansion into space, contact with hostile civilizations seemed inevitable. The project to create a capable stealth ship able to be inserted silently into hostile star systems and stay reasonably hidden while carrying out recon missions both in space and on planets.
The design would have to be low emission, with minimum risk of detection or discovery at orbital distances. It would have to be able to get itself out of trouble, featuring high speed and active defense measures. It would have to be able to conduct signals intelligence while it was deployed, and be able to affect enemy communications though electronic warfare. And it would have to be able to deploy small recon teams on hostile planets to conduct small scale missions and intelligence gathering.
Taking these specifications, first adapted designs were fielded using existing chassis', however these ships were often inadequate for purpose and combat losses were high. After standardizing down to a common class, the Remora was the first ship designed for purpose and is being produced in large numbers to provide the eyes and ears to chelti fleets throughout the reaches.
Often deployed in dark space by jumpship far enough away to minimize detection, the Remora's speed allows it to enter or exit a system relatively quickly even across large distances to get into position on a reasonable timeframe. Once inserted into the system the Remora's quiet signature means it can usually avoid detection from another other than direct contact with resident orbital defenses, allowing it to passively observe enemy movements and communication.
If required to land recon teams on a planet, the Remora has a small shuttlebay capable of carrying a handful of small dropships for limited missions. These teams are often only deployed for a few weeks at a time at most before being shuttled back up to the Remora for extraction, the ship itself usually retreating to a safer location at this time.
If discovered, the Remora will often try to use its fast speed to exit the system as soon as possible and evade contact long enough to rendezvous with the scheduled return of its jumpship. Able to fire its limited weaponry behind it as well as a potent array of electronic warfare to make targeting and coordination difficult. Space is a big place, and Remoras are often capable of losing pursuers inside planetary systems, never mind star systems.

5 Officers, 20 Voidsman, and usually complement of up to 24 Patient Recon operatives.
Considered a moderate weapon, the Navy 400 is a respectable rapid fire cannon of some firepower, however the Remora's gun placement focuses more on all around defense instead of focusing firepower.
Used for one-way deployment strategies, as well as delivering crude orbital kinetic strikes using simple rods, the MAD Cannon is big enough to fire one operative and all their equipment per shot within a drop pod. Multiple pods can be loaded to cycle through the MAD cannon in rapid succession.
The bog-standard Laser Ring is a simple array of laser emitters attached to various points around the ship designed to intercept enemy guided munitions or small craft.
Made for speed, the Remora's armor is only equipped 'adequate' to requirements, enough to take stray or glancing hits, but certainly not designed for sustained combat.
Designed to insert small teams pretty much anywhere. If you need chelti to suddenly show up somewhere, this is probably the ship for it.
