Mon Network

A network of 7 channels devoted specifically to non-humanoid species (sometimes referred to as mons for short), Mon primarily deals with the ins and outs of living in a world dominated by those with two arms and two legs who see visible light and communicate with air vibrations and symbolical representations of those sounds.

About the Mon Network

Bumpy beginnings

Thought for the longest time to be a prank and injoke against humanoids by aliens, Mon Network was proven to contain actual televising when the signal decoders needed to actually WATCH the channels were released to the general public. It was later revealed that early adopters had just plugged themselves in and “figured it out on their own”.

Content

Common issues discussed on the network are those of living as a hive-mind intelligence, artificial intelligence, cognisant non-sentient minds, existence as a relational abstraction (for example cognisant colors), life as a meme, how to avoid logical traps and information hazards in daily life, genetic hygiene & racial cleansing routines, developing people skills for dealing with one another (naturalism, musicalism, logical/mathematical/existential/interpersonal/bodilykinesthetic/linguistic/wordsmart/intrapersonal or spatial), familiaral affairs, entertainment, desires of self-propagation (including pornography) and shared thought and dealing with complex feelings like Xaxa, ɐnʍᴉuɐʎƎ, ⓝ8331 and the common disphoric sensation of a҉̡̛͘͞ɪ̴̕͟w̢͟ɒ̴̧n̵͏͡҉̧ţ̸͢͝͡/̨́́͞t̷̷̡̕͟ə̀͏̨͝w̶̶̡͘͟e̸̛͡͞͡ə͡r̷̡̧͡s̕ḱ̛͜͠ɪ̷͘n̸҉ felt by many high-level artificial intelligence.

Mon makes little to no special allowances in the stories or issues it deals with, though channel 108 specifically features subtitles, actoral representations similar to sign language for singular/monokinestietic emotional beings and is the only channel which is broadcast exclusively within the visible spectrum of light and the aural range of sound that can be watched with a normal television.
