I open this book of soldiers law, to remind us of our warrior ways.
I open this book of holy law, reminding us of our duties to the gods.
I light these flames, remind us of the light we must shine to our nation.
I reveal this weapon, reminding us of our martial vows.
And I upturn this standard, and declare this council well met.
- Opening ceremony to warrior meetings and negotiations.
When the chelti warrior caste are conscripted in clan tithes from early age, they are inducted not only into military life, training, and upbringing, but also a culture steeped in spirituality, coping with defeat, and humbleness in victory. This separation of military and civilian, barring total mobilization, has grown a military culture in limited isolation of regular chelti life, tempered by war, and driven by loyalty.
With the Sword of Seloca being constantly tested and sharpened against its enemies, chelti militaries have almost always been highly active in parts of the galaxy since their kind reached space less than half a century ago, be it in open combat operations or otherwise. Massive expansion of military capacity in such a short time frame has led to many growing pains along with the suffering war brings upon the innocent and the warrior, to cope with such horrific circumstance the spiritualist and almost tranquil nature of many warriors often surprises foreigners who know chelti armies more for their unrelenting ferocity than for reflection and magnanimity.
Be fooled not by such display, it is not detachment from the world and actions that allows such peace, but the acceptance of a harsh, uncaring universe where destruction is a natural process to make room for creation.
