====== Occupations ====== The following is a list of occupations commonly seen throughout Wandering Star. Player Characters can elect to be employed in these roles, and can draw upon occupational knowledge or connections during Roleplay. These occupations can be applied for and worked at in any reasonably civilised location. So long as the employers and infrastructure which directly (or indirectly) interacts with the role are present, these jobs are available((For example, a character can't have a job in radio presenting on a barren planet with no listeners, or infrastructure to support transmission. Well - they can try pirate radio, but they won't be making much money!)). This is not an exhaustive or definite list of occupations, or pay grades for characters. Players are encouraged to branch out and explore the possibilities. All pay listed is in [[society/kingdom_of_albion#currency|Albion Currency (AC)]], and does not take into consideration things like insurance, pensions, protection, access to services or housing; superannuation, contacts, favours, and other perks and responsibilities as is plausible for the position, and the society around it. ^Name^Type^Description^Pay per annum^Notes^ |**Bounty Hunter**|Law Enforcement|Pursues, apprehends, and brings wanted criminals to law enforcement officials, or persons of interest to private employers. Explorers seek treasure, technology, knowledge, or answers, and perhaps turn a profit from discovery.||Invites a broad array of takers and skillsets to excel. Never dull!| |**Farmer**|Agricultural|Grows and harvests fruit, vegetables, or grain for consumption. Requires specialised equipment for nondetection, but highly rewarding.| |**Soldier**|Military|Serves as a member of a nation's fighting/defence force, or privately employed as security aboard a starship, for a company, or as a mercenary.
